Consumers increasingly want more sophisticated mobile handsets, and smartphone sales are expected to grow 52% this year compared to last year, according to Gartner. The firm adds that smartphone sales will reach over 700 million units, accounting for 65% of all handset sales. This will represent nearly $200 billion, Gartner said.

Dell to continue to offer Windows XP

Dell will continue to offer Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system to customers beyond the June 30th deadline. The announcement comes after CEO Steve Ballmer suggested that Microsoft might change its mind and extend Windows XP if customers asked for it. However, Mr. Ballmer added that most customers were not asking for XP.
