Unions to recruit children

The Australian: Unions will target student workers as young as 14 for recruitment, with union officials potentially speaking at schools, in a bid to arrest the dramatic decline in membership numbers among Generation Y.

The ACTU and Unions NSW are finalising plans to launch a pilot program in Sydney targeting 14- to 18-year-old student workers after research found a majority of young people could not even describe a union.
