The Australian: Trade unions demanding Kevin Rudd scrap or weaken curbs on trade union thuggery on construction sites will target his Government with a million-dollar television advertising campaign similar to that which destroyed John Howard and brought Labor to power.

But the Prime Minister yesterday defied the pressure, telling Labor MPs he would not fast-track the dismantling of the Australian Building and Construction Commission, which has extraordinary powers to fight corruption and union bullying.
