Rudd to promote $100m carbon research institute at United Nations

As foreshadowed in The Australian today, the Prime Minister has announced $100 million in funding for a carbon research institute, describing the international effort to scale up the technology, which stores the emissions from coal-fired power plants deep underground, as “not very well co-ordinated”.
