This is a status he shares with the two other independent MPs, Bob Katter and Tony Windsor, along with the key players in the ALP, the Coalition and the Greens plus a few media-focused mavericks.
The problem for the electors of Lyne is that the high profile of the local independent parliamentarian will not necessarily translate into real political achievement.
