Everyone wants to be top dog

Kerry-Anne Walsh: The brave but bonkers nine months of Brendan Nelson’s leadership carries caution for anyone who thinks being top political dog is about pleasing as many people as possible and having a bob each way on policies.

Nelson’s short, sharp self-inflicted demise proved the political arena is no place for those who don’t know exactly why they want the leader’s job, and to what end.
