Pacific leaders threaten to suspend Fiji from islands forum

The Australian: Pacific leaders today threatened to throw Fiji out of the 15-member Pacific Islands Forum unless military strongman Frank Bainimarama went ahead with next year’s promised elections.

Leaders of Australia, New Zealand and 13 Pacific Island nations meeting in the tiny island state Niue condemned Commodore Bainimarama for failing to attend the meeting and back-flipping on his commitment to return Fiji to democracy.
