Thai PM refuses to step down

The Australian: Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said today that he would not dissolve parliament or step down, saying he would stay in office “in order to preserve democracy”.

“I am not resigning, I will not dissolve the House. I have to stay in order to preserve democracy and to protect the monarchy,” Mr Samak said in an hour-long radio address.
