This weekend Nicole de Boer (Deep Space Nine: Ezri Dax) became the latest Trek veteran to jump through to the ‘Gate’ franchise, appearing in Stargate Atlantis. In a new interview with Gateworld the actress talks about the experience as well as her thoughts on her time on Deep Space Nine, and the new Star Trek movie.

Being derivative isn’t necessarily a condemnation in television, but given the auspices and hype, “Fringe” disappoints — mixing a bit of “The X-Files” here and a dollop of “Alias” there, flecks of deeply embedded conspiracies and imperiled humanity. The title should do a reasonably good job of describing the show’s audience.

Summit Entertainment has released new teaser trailers for its upcoming vampire movie Twilight, based on the hit series of young-adult novels by Stephenie Meyer. Twilight, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, opens in the United States on Nov. 21.

New York, New York: A city so nice they keep destroying it. In science fiction films, that is. The Big Apple is arguably the city most likely to be devastated by a giant monster or natural disaster in movies, in part because it has such lovely landmarks to devastate.

A series about “fringe science” typically would tease some pretty crazy things that would be more science-fiction than science. But when “Fringe” premieres Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. on Fox, executive producer and co-creator J.J. Abrams says it’s a show that won’t cross the line into unbelievable territory.

SCI FI Channel is calling “inaccurate” rumors that the second half of ‘Battlestar Galactica’s’ fourth and final season will be delayed and confirmed again that the original series will return with new episodes in January 2009.

“Major Paul Davis” of the Pentagon will be paying a visit to the Pegasus Galaxy in the series finale of ‘Stargate Atlantis’, GateWorld has learned from reliable sources. Little is known about “Enemy at the Gate,” the one hundredth episode of ‘Atlantis’, but the title implies volumes.

If you thought the ending of “Revelations” was tough, just wait until you see the last 10 episodes. These are the words of Edward James Olmos - otherwise known as “Battlestar Galactica’s” Admiral Adama – who, according to DoorQ, promises that the remaining episodes of the season will include some harsh adventures. Beware of minor spoilers.

When Fox’s Fringe debuts next week, it will introduce a new Australian actress to American audiences: Anna Torv, who has appeared in some TV down under and elsewhere, but is otherwise unknown. She joins a list of J.J. Abrams’ discoveries who emerged from obscurity into the limelight.

With a decommissioning ceremony — as befits any great vessel — the exhibit and its replica of the starship Enterprise are closing Monday. Thousands of trekkies are “beaming up” from across the United Federation of Planets, er, the United States and around the world one last time.
